And this one is unbelievably tough, most bags zippers would just easily loose out of track. But this one is still working good and still looking really tough. I should say I like this very much and in my opinion, this bag is way ahead from other brands or from other of Guess’ back pack bags line up. I know this because my brother got other Guess’ back pack and my bag, this bag outlasted his. It is not that I seldom use it, well, I use it every day in college for 5 straight years. Or maybe my brother is using his bag like soldiers do in a war, I do not know but I think not really it is just that mine is tougher.

It is tough and durable, but now that it is over 18 years old, it starts to wear out. The inside wrapper starts to tip off piece by piece like corn flakes. I hate this part but I do not hate the bag, not at all. Yes, nothing lasts forever no matter what material it is made of. When you look at it you can appreciate it because there is not much unnecessary designs, pure and simple I should say. And the color, it is blue with oval gray so I think this bag is sincere of being simple and elegant. Nice looking and simple but toughness is the game. A wash and dry bag, the color looks like it is still new there is not much fading through the years. I wonder how they made this. I wish all bags are made this way or near like this. 

But well, not the price, at more than $120 dollars at that time it is very expensive for a poor guy like me. The good thing is it was only given to me, lucky boy at that time. But my way of buying is that I do not usually buy products which are not satisfactory to me, well, almost. And I am proud to say that this 1992 Guess Back Pack is satisfactory. One of the few things I got that I love so much.

       I just bought Colgate Philippines’ newest product this noon. The product is called Colgate Twin Pack Sachet, I think this was launched 5 months ago at 27 grams. The sachet looks good to me I like its cherry red color with cool and simple logo design. I just do not know why they split the pack into two though both parts are equal in weight at 13.5 grams each. Before it was like one sachet about 20 grams, now it is just like it glued together in one. Maybe because people might see it like the old sachet doubled, so I think this is just another one big corporate gimmick as usual. 

        When I opened it, it just would not open easily because it does not have the little ready to open cut at the side unlike the old sachet or any other competing brands. And I hate products which are not user friendly, where you have to use a scissor or any sharp object to cut it open. Now when I put something in my brush there were pastes that were spilled because it does not have a nozzle like the old version, where you can easily control the flow of the paste. When I started brushing, it feels sandy and too minty unlike other brands especially Close Up of Unilever which is smooth in your tongue or teeth or gums and not too minty. Maybe there is too much fluoride in it and fluoride weakens teeth, believe me it does. It could even harm the liver when over used so maybe its one advantage is putting just a bit of it so it is a saver without putting out effectiveness since it is minty enough and has fluoride enough.

But over all I think it is not that bad it is 27 grams compared to the old one with just 20 grams at the same price. It is good especially in the country where I am from where quantity is more often being weighted more quality because of poverty. And I think that is the main reason why Colgate Philippines designed this one, for the mass consumers I guess. I still prefer the other brand, I do not hate them or whatsoever and I am not paid nor work for by Unilever. Given the reasons and everything I think this twin pack is 6 out of 10 for me, no more no less, sad but true. Peace!

The features are pretty simple as usual and easy to navigate I guess this is what Nokia is best known for. When I looked in the inside I saw the ” made in Finland” label in a sticker. 

       So I think I bought an original one where original and imitation is a big issue now a days. Well, at least it is made in Finland something that I can brag about. I navigate more through it and I discovered that after I choose the “Use Number” option where you can save the phone number of the one who texted or called you, something went wrong. After I pushed the OK button , it did not save the number to my phone book list. Instead the phone dialed the and started calling the particular number that I wanted to save, so I immediately aborted the call.

      Another thing I do not like is the Radio feature. It would require you to plug an earphone in it before you can use it, unlike other phones that I have, you will never hear any music even if you set the loud speaker mode on. I am very upset since I am a music lover. May it was my fault I did not test this particular feature without an earphone because it was tested with an earphone in it by the time of buying this.

Other than these two negatives, I do not see any more defect. From messaging, web browsing to media features I think they are real fine. The keypad is real good because it is flat, soft touch buttons yet very durable. I had seen the same model from one of my friends and I noticed that its keypad letters are getting blurred already and the back cover is starting to shake a bit if you shake the phone. It is supposed to be unshakable right? I wonder if mine would be like it but I doubt because his is made from China. Besides, I bought mine ahead of his and I am using it every day.   

So I guess same model but his phone retired ahead of mine. Knowing its simplicity and very user friendly, the Nokia 5300D is one piece like especially this unit that I call my very own. I had used more complex phones before but I like this one better. Not that I love my own, it is just that simplicity is good without rendering effectiveness and durability. Nokia 5300D is good for simple people well, I guess that includes me.

Unilever Surf Super Sulit Pack

I was washing my clothes this morning using this Unilever’s Surf Sulit 78 gram Pack. It is 30 percent more than the previews pack. I like its fragrance which is kalamansi or lemon cool one when you look at it. Soothing light green I think is great detergent since it is like you are referring it to nature. Now, I noticed something labeled “oxybubbles” in front in my mind I thought, well, this could be very bubbly which for me is good for washing.

But when I poured it in the wash, I noticed it did not bubble as I had expected it to be. It is not that bubbly compared to the other brands I had used in the past and until now. I even asked some of my friends about it. I told them about this not so bubbly thing even if poured enough amount of powder where it is supposed to be very bubbly. They too had this same experience, now they say it is because of the chalk composition in it. The chalk issue could be a bad publicity against Unilever by the other brands competing against it, I do not know.

Whatever or whoever is telling the truth, I am still disappointed by the performance of the product. Off course, you do not have to take my words for this. Maybe they labeled this a “Sulit Pack”, sulit could mean satisfactory in english language, but I am not satisfied as a consumer. Well, 30 percent is 30 percent as labeled and it means a lot since you can save as they say compared to about 35-40 percent less from other competitions. But those brands are different things.

They may have their own issues but their product is compact or pure that means more effective compare to this one. So I would say those other products should be labeled “sulit pack” or satisfactory pack instead., which I am going to give my own review in the future. Now back to the chalk , maybe the whole 30 percent more is all chalk. Again it is just “ maybe” I am saying this because I can see big granules in it compared to pure detergent powder pack brands. Now how in the world would I surely know if the other brands are not putting chalk in their product? Can small tiny granules mean no chalk at all? I do not know, I am not a chemist or something. But how about the not so bubbly issue? I think it does not take a genius. Is it not sealed well? Or is it expired? I do not think so, I can observe it is sealed very well. I even tried putting its empty sachet fully with water and could not see any leakage.

Verdict:
 So to conclude, I think this 30 percent more is just another gimmick. I prefer other brands which are small but effective. Mabuhay.
